Behaviour Change among the Community

Very Encouraging Feedback from the Field
Our field team has done a follow up in around 600 households to check whether the behaviour changes we were advocating through students have sustained
We are extremely happy to learn that indeed the behaviour changes regarding balanced diet and including locally available fruits and vegetables in daily meals, about hygiene and cleanliness, were all being followed in the families. Parents were also making sure that children ate a meal before going to school. Families were also keenly observing the improved sense of wellness and energy levels among their children and among themselves.
Our field team has also started conducting IEC programmes among women SHGs and Adolescent Girls concentrating on the Intergenerational Cycle of Malnutrition, the importance of Sanitation, Preventing Early Marriage among Girls, Preventing School Dropouts and the Importance of timely Complementary Food for Children after 6 months.
We are extremely happy to learn that around 80% of the women and all adolescent girls have shown great enthusiasm for the programme. This is in sharp contrast with the indifference the SHGs showed when our IEC programme first started in 2022.
Please note that in Sugur Village, Shorapur Taluk, the SHG programme is being held outside the house of a member, as no other location is available in the village.
