An exhibition was organized by the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Yadgir last month.
We are very happy to see our VitaPoshan kiosk, and our thanks to Deputy Commissioner and his staff for their encouragement to our field team.
Our field partner BAIF reports that VitaPoshan sales were good, even though it is a new product.
Most popular was VitaPoshan Yuva – small fortified crisp bits made from soya flour, pulses and tomato powder. Hopefully, this trend grows and students and young children continue to consume it instead of junk food.
VitaPoshan Baalya was second most popular. This was good news, as previous experience showed that there was always some hesitancy in the community for purchasing children’s food.
We had also learnt that children missed out on a health preparation as most mothers had no time to ‘cook’ anything additional for children, as they had to be in time for construction or agricultural work.
So we took care to make this an extruded food, which could easily dissolve in milk/water, and required no extra cooking
Maybe, that has worked
